THE CENTER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES PLAYSCAPEThe Y is for Youth Development.The Y makes sure that every child has an opportunity to envision and pursue a positive future, and to take an active role in strengthening community.The Center for Children and Families at the new Y will be the starting point to prepare children for lifelong learning, as well as becoming and staying active while developing lifelong healthy habits.The Center for Children and Families will hold120 children with room to expand.
In order to foster the most conducive and productive learning environment, we need the funds to incorporate a nature-based playscape outside The Center for Children and Families with three categories for infant, toddler, and preschool-aged children.
Research reveals a strong link between children's experiences of nature and their psychological well-being and overall development. In this age of widespread technology use, computers, television, and video games often replace time spent playing outdoors. It is imperative that parents, educators, and other professionals encourage outdoor play and find ways to reconnect children with nature.

AQUATICS CENTER
The Y is more than a gym and swim, and our YMCA Aquatic Facilities offer more than just swim lessons. Families and individuals come together to play, exercise, and socialize. Northwest Monroe County is in need of community indoor aquatic pool space that can provide a fun and active way for families to play together, receive swim instruction, and enjoy adult water fitness year round.
The Y believes that confidence in the water develops skills that last a lifetime. Your support can provide this opportunity.
