Toddler and Preschool


Parent/Toddler  (walking through 30 months)

Class requires child to be walking and with a caregiver. Open exploration with a brief circle time, songs, and stretches.


  Tiny Tumblers  (2 1/2 - 3 years old)

A class for children who are ready for more structure. This class requires a caregiver who will help guide the child through obstacle courses. This class helps to prepare toddlers for our Mini Flippers (age 3) class.



Mini Flippers  (3 years old)

A class focused on listening and directional skills with fundamental gymnastics. Parents may stay and watch class, but are not required to participate.


Kids in Motion  (3.5 - 6 years old)

A great class for siblings! This class will focus on listening and directions, as well as fundamental gymnastics.


Little Stars  (4 -5 years old)

Class will focus on basic fundamental gymnastics for younger gymnasts.


Sparklers  (4 -5 years old)

See a YMCA coach before registering.

Gymnastics for Grown-Ups

Do you wish there were a place where you could tumble? The Y is the place! Adults of all ages and skill levels are welcome!


YMCA Stars

This group of YMCA students does performances in and around the community. Past performances include IU Women’s basketball games, BHSS Basketball games, BHSS Gymnastics Meets, and the 2013 fourth of July Parade. Price includes leotard. Financial assistance is not available.


Adapted Gymnastics

For children with physical and/or developmental disabilities. Ages 5-12.


Open Gym

For Ages 5 and Younger: Non-instructional, open exploration. Supervised by Gymnastics Center staff                 



For Ages 6 and Older: Non-instructional gym time supervised by YMCA Gymnastics Center staff.                                      


There will be no Open Gym on Easter Sunday. Open Gym will close May 11 for the summer, and will resume in September.

Kids Night In   

Games free time, and gymnastics fun at the Gymnastics center! After two and a half hours of gym fun children will get their snack and settle in for a movie. Please provide a peanut free dinner, and an evening snack for your child. Water bottles also suggested.

School-Age Program



Introduction and mastery of fundamentals

Boys' Tumbling Level 1

Beginning boys' tumbling, ages 5 and up


Boys' Tumbling Level 2

Intermediate tumbling for boys; coach recommendation required.


High School Gymnastics Team Prep

For gymnasts of all skill levels who are in middle school or high school and are looking for a class to focus on specific skills to better prepare them for high school gymnastics.



Cheer and Tumbling


Cheer Clinics

Boost your confidence for cheer tryouts with a little extra help! Focus is only tumbling, motion jumps, and stunting. Ages 11 and up

Youth Cheer

Fundamental motions, jumps, tumbling, and stunts. Choreographed cheers and chants. Ages 6-11


All-Star Cheer Prep

This is for girls on All-Star Cheer Squads who need to focus on tumbling and jumps. Minimum of a cartwheel is required. Ages 6-11


Cheer Tumbling 1

Focus on round-off and back handsprings. Must have at least a cartwheel to register. Ages 11-17


Cheer Tumbling 2

Focus on skill connections, back tucks, and advanced tumbling if ready. Must have standing back handspring to register.

YMCA Cheer Magic - Exhibition Team
A new opportunity for students who are interested in cheer, and would like to showcase their talents at events in the community. Much like our YMCA Stars, the team will perform at events such as half time at high school basketball games, and will participate in the 4th of July parade. This is a non-competitive cheer team. Ages 6-12

Adult Cheer and Stunting
A class for former cheerleaders or anyone who would like to learn a fun way to exercise and be active! Tumbling, stunting, jumps, and maybe even a cheer or two!


Creative Movement

Introductory class for preschoolers. Explores different ways to move utilizing music, sounds, props, shapes, colors, and more. Parent participation required. Ages 2.5-4


Introduction to Ballet

The perfect class for young beginners. Ages 4.5-6 years



Focuses on fundamental technique through positions, leaps, and steps. Teaches students confidence and elegance. Ages 6-10


Jazz 1

Students learn beginning Jazz steps, leaps, and terminology. Choreography combining these steps is also put to music for a basic routine. Ages 6-10

Jazz 2

For students who have mastered the basic skills in Jazz 1. Learn more complicated skills and choreography. Ages 8 and up

Jazz Poms

Focuses on choreography of a cheer-style pom routine. Ages 6-10


Hip Hop

Learn basic skills of different hip hop dance styles through choreography. Ages 10 and up

Home School Dance

An exploratory class for new dancers. It will cover the basic positions, steps, leaps, and terminology in both ballet and jazz styles. Choreography may also be used to combine steps in basic routine. Ages 6-10


Dance for Gymnasts

Gold, Platinum, and High School level gymnasts who are interested in developing their dance skills. Focus on flexibility, jumps, leaps, turns, and combinations of these skills. Ages 6 and up


Color Guard Prep

For students interested in auditioning for local high school color guard programs or those already in a color guard program that wish to further their skills. Basic techniques and choreography.


Adult Dance

All skill levels welcome! Focus on jazz, modern techniques, and skills, strength and flexibility, and short choreography of varying styles each week.
