Toddler and Preschool

 

Parent/Toddler  (walking through 30 months)

Class requires child to be walking and with a caregiver. Open exploration with a brief circle time, songs, and stretches.

 

 

Tiny Tumblers  (2 1/2 - 3 years old)

A class for children who are ready for more structure. This class requires a caregiver who will help guide the child through obstacle courses. This class helps to prepare toddlers for our Mini Flippers (age 3) class.

 

 

Mini Flippers  (3 years old)

A class focused on listening and directional skills with fundamental gymnastics. Parents may stay and watch class, but are not required to participate.

  

Kids in Motion  (3.5 - 6 years old)

A great class for siblings! This class will focus on listening and directions, as well as fundamental gymnastics.

 

Little Stars  (4 -5 years old)

Class will focus on basic fundamental gymnastics for younger gymnasts.

 

Sparklers  (4 -5 years old)

See a YMCA coach before registering.

 

 

 

Specialty Gymnastics

Gymnastics for Grown-Ups

Do you wish there were a place where you could tumble? The Y is the place! Adults of all ages and skill levels are welcome!

  

YMCA Stars

This group of YMCA students does performances in and around the community. Past performances include IU Women’s basketball games, BHSS Basketball games, BHSS Gymnastics Meets, and the 2013 fourth of July Parade. Price includes leotard. Financial assistance is not available.

 

Adapted Gymnastics

For children with physical and/or developmental disabilities. Ages 5-12.

 

Open Gym

For Ages 5 and Younger: Non-instructional, open exploration. Supervised by Gymnastics Center staff                 

                                                                           

 

For Ages 6 and Older: Non-instructional gym time supervised by YMCA Gymnastics Center staff.                                      

                                                                           


There will be no Open Gym on Easter Sunday. Open Gym will close May 11 for the summer, and will resume in September.

Bronze

Introduction and mastery of fundamentals

 

Silver

Introduction and mastery of intermediate skills

 

Gold

Further mastery of intermediate and combination skills

 

Platinum

Introduction and mastery of advanced skills

 

Rollers

Beginner class for students ages 8-12

 

Boys' Tumbling Level 1

Beginning boys' tumbling, ages 5 and up

 

Boys' Tumbling Level 2

Intermediate tumbling for boys; coach recommendation required.

 

 

 

Cheer and Tumbling

 

Tiny Cheer

Basic motions and jumps, plus choreographed cheers and chants. Ages 4-5

 

Youth Cheer Squad

Fundamental motions, jumps, tumbling, and stunts. Choreographed cheers and chants. Ages 6-11

 

All-Star Cheer Prep

This is for girls on All-Star Cheer Squads who need to focus on tumbling and jumps. Ages 6-11

 

High School Gymnastics Team Prep

For gymnasts of all skill levels who are in middle school or high school and are looking for a class to focus on specific skills to better prepare them for high school gymnastics.

 

Cheer Tumbling 1

Focus on round-off and back handsprings. Must have at least a cartwheel to register. Agues 11-17

 

Cheer Tumbling 2

Focus on skill connections, back tucks, and advanced tumbling if ready. Must have standing back handspring to register

 

 

Dance

 

Mommy and Me Dance

Fun movement to music for toddlers. Parent/guardian participation required. Ages 4-36 months

 

Creative Movement

Introductory class for preschoolers. Ages 3-4

 

Introduction to Ballet

The perfect class for young beginners. Ages 4.5-6 years

 

Ballet

Focuses on fundamental technique through positions, leaps, and steps. Teaches students confidence and elegance. Ages 6-10

 

Jazz

Beginning jazz dance

 

Cheer: Dance/Poms

Focuses on choreography of a cheer-style pom routine. Ages 6-10

 

Adapted Dance

This dance program is for students with different abilities. It is held in the Gymnastics Center Conference Room. Class size is limited so please sign up early! Ages 4-9
