Meet the Teachers
I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education for 7 years. Before coming to the YMCA I was with Child and Youth Services of the Army at Camp Atterbury. I have my associates in Early Childhood Education from Ivy Tech. Currently I am attending classes at Ball State University in the ECE field. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my two children (10&15), being outdoors, gardening, and vacationing.
I just completed my associates in Human Services and I am also working on my CDA at Ivy Tech. I am about to start a new journey working towards my bachelors in Social Work at IUPUI. I have been passionate about being a caregiver for as long as I can remember. I feel very fortunate to be a teacher here at the YCCF, I’ve learned so much in just a few short years. Not to mention the bonds I have created with the children and families. I am very passionate about the children getting hands-on experiences and truly feel that’s how they learn best. In my classroom you’ll see muddy bodies and dirty clothes but smiling faces! In my free time I enjoy exploring psychology, being with family, exploring outside, shopping, fishing, and spoiling my nephew. I don’t have any kids of my own at the moment, I wish to someday. I did rescue a Maltese about six years ago named Sam, so he is sort of my baby. :)
Hello! My name is Hali Murray, and I was born and raised in Linton, Indiana. I recently graduated from USI with my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in special education. I’ve been in this field for over 3 years now. Before the YCCF, I worked in a child care center in Evansville while finishing my degree. Working with children has always been my passion. I enjoy seeing the children learn and grow and knowing that I can play a positive role in their young lives. When I am not at work, I enjoy reading, being outside, playing with my dogs, and spending time with my friends and family. The YMCA has a wonderful community surrounding it, and I am happy to be a part of that.
I have worked as a caregiver since I was 16 years old and have been a Performing Arts Director, a Baby and Me Teacher, and worked in a group home for adults with challenges. I am currently in school for my degree in Early Childhood Education at Ivy Tech. I am from California and I currently live in Bloomington with my dog, Rose, while my husband is deployed with the Army. I enjoy being in nature and love to share it with the children.

I am originally from Plymouth, Indiana and have been working in early childhood classrooms since 2003. In 2010, I earned my bachelor's degree from Indiana University in early childhood education and later went back to earn my master's degree in Curriculum & Instruction focusing on early childhood literacy, culture, and research. I love the Bloomington community and feel so lucky to work with the wonderful children and families at the YCCF.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development/Family Studies and Education from Indiana University in 2012. I’ve been a teacher/caregiver for about 4 years now and love to see the children’s smiling faces every day! I live with my husband, Craig, and hope to start our own family in the future. In my spare time, I love to read books on my Nook, watch movies, and spend time with my husband, our dog, and our cat.
