Center for Children and Families (YCCF)
The Center for Children and Families provides a sound early childhood program for children 6 weeks through 5 years (prekindergarten). The Center's curriculum for infants, toddlers and preschoolers focuses on developing the whole child, through hands-on, investigative projects that encourage children to use all of their senses and help to develop their critical thinking skills, getting them ready for school.
Funded by the YMCA Endowment Fund, Energize is an in school program that strives to cater to preventing childhood obesity by providing lessons on healthy eating choices and the importance of 60 minutes of exercise per day.
The Y provides an environment that encourages curiosity, creativity and expression. We encourage healthy growth in spirit, mind, and body, with cooperation and mutual respect for everyone. We develop this through positive character development and by modeling these behaviors through teacher-children interactions. Children are individuals, and we believe in developing the whole child emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially, while meeting each child’s own needs and learning styles. Through games, group activities, songs, creative drama, gym time, outdoor play, and story time, children will learn about the world around them. We believe in partnering with parents to encourage whole child development within a safe and nurturing environment.
