Thursday, March 28:

  • "Atomic Habits: Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results," by James Clear
  • No matter your goals, Atomic Habits offers a proven framework for improving every day. James Clear, one of the world’s leading experts on habit formation, reveals practical strategies that will teach you exactly how to form good habits, break bad ones, and master the tiny behaviors that lead to remarkable results. If you’re having trouble changing your habits, the problem isn’t you. The problem is your system. Bad habits repeat themselves again and again not because you don’t want to change, but because you have the wrong system for change. You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems. Here, you’ll get a proven system that can take you to new heights.

Thursday, June 6:

  • "No Ego: How Leaders Can Cut the Cost of Workplace Drama, End Entitlement and Drive Big Results," by Cy Wakeman
  • For years now, leaders in almost every industry have accepted two completely false assumptions–that change is hard and that engagement drives results. Those beliefs have inspired expensive attempts to shield employees from change, involve them in high-level decision-making, and keep them happy with endless “satisfaction surveys” and workplace perks. But what these engagement programs actually do, Cy Wakeman says, is inflate expectations and sow unhappiness, leaving employees unprepared to adapt to even minor changes necessary to the organization’s survival.

Thursday, September 26:

  • "Change: How Organizations Achieve Hard-to-Imagine Results in Uncertain and Volatile Times," by John P. Kotter, Vanessa Akhtar, & Gaurav Gupta
  • Incremental improvement is no longer sufficient in helping organizations navigate the complexity, uncertainty, and volatility of today’s world. In this book club pick, we explore how to create non-linear, dramatic change in the organization. You’ll discover the emerging science of change that teaches us how to build organizations – from businesses to governments – that change and adapt rapidly.
