At the Monroe County Y, we are more than a gym. We're a community—a place where you can gather, connect with others, and learn something new!
We are excited to hold our Senior Lunch & Learn series at our Northwest Y in our Community Room. These events feature a range of speakers from a wide variety of expertise. From health and wellness to finances to cybersecurity, there is plenty to learn at our Senior Lunch & Learn events.
Senior Lunch & Learns are FREE and open to the public with free lunch included for attendees. Please register early to reserve your spot, as space is limited.

According to the U.S. Census, 8% of the population in Bloomington is 65 and older, and 37% of those seniors live alone. Understanding the different options available in senior healthcare can be complicated and confusing. Join passionate senior advocate Sandra McGow to learn the difference between independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of choosing home healthcare versus a retirement community, and the lines of care our local communities and agencies offer so you can feel empowered to make the right choice for you and your health.

Discover how to build better balance and mobility with Margie Kobow, Monroe County YMCA Healthy Hearts & Active Lives Director. She'll lead you through a discussion and introduce you to movements that will challenge the way you think about balance and how you move.
