At the Monroe County Y, we are more than a gym. We're a community—a place where you can gather, connect with others, and learn something new!
We are excited to hold our Senior Lunch & Learn series at our Northwest Y in our Community Room. These events feature a range of speakers from a wide variety of expertise. From health and wellness to finances to cybersecurity, there is plenty to learn at our Senior Lunch & Learn events.
Senior Lunch & Learns are FREE and open to the public with free lunch included for attendees. Please register early to reserve your spot, as space is limited.
Nutrition and Diet in Aging Populations

Join Molly Osgood, RD, LD, as she provides recommendations on a healthy diet for aging populations. She will share practical tips on nutrition and healthy eating habits, along with ways to make small, sustainable changes that support long-term wellness. Molly will also discuss common nutritional challenges older adults face and offer strategies to overcome them. There will be time at the end for questions and discussion!

Join passionate senior advocate Sandra McGow to learn the difference between Independent Living; Assisted Living; and Skilled Nursing. Learn the advantages and disadvantages of choosing Home Healthcare vs. a Retirement Community, as well as what lines of care our local communities and agencies offer. Feel empowered to make the right choice for you and your health.
