Named Endowment Funds
Naming an endowment fund at the Y is easy—you can make an outright gift or build the fund over time. As with all endowments, it is a permanent fund set aside for a special purpose: Since the principal is never invaded, the fund becomes a growing, perpetual source of income for the program you have chosen to support. Questions about starting your own named fund? Contact Matt Osgood, Senior Development Director, at (812) 961-2169.

The YMCA Endowment Fund
When you give to our YMCA Endowment Fund, your support continues to impact lives long after your gift is made. A percentage of the investment income from the Endowment Fund is used to help sustain our commitment to health and wellness by supplementing the Y’s projects, programs, and services.
Many friends of the YMCA choose to help extend the Y's influence beyond their own lifetimes by making gifts to the Y's permanent endowment fund. You can direct such gifts to support the overall work of the YMCA or designate them to support a specific program area.
The Heritage Club
This group is comprised of individuals, couples, and families who have made an outright or planned gift to our Y's Endowment Fund in one of the following ways:
- Making an outright gift of $10,000 or more in the form of cash, securities, property, or other marketable assets
- Making a pledge of $10,000 or more over ten years
- Naming the Y's Endowment Fund as a full or partial beneficiary of a bequest in a will or living trust
- Naming the Y's Endowment Fund as a full or partial beneficiary of an annuity or donor-advised fund
- Creating a charitable remainder trust or life estate gift
- Naming the YMCA's Endowment Fund as the primary or secondary beneficiary of a new or existing life insurance policy or retirement plan
Have you already included the Monroe County YMCA in your will, trust, or estate plans?
If so, thank you! Your thoughtful planning ensures the Y will continue to strengthen our community for generations to come.
By letting us know, you help us honor your intentions and welcome you into our Heritage Club, a group of donors whose legacy gifts make a lasting difference.
Testimony from an Endowment Fund Donor
"My wife and I decided we would like to participate in the continuation of the YMCA Cardiac Rehab program by setting up our Endowment Fund. I would like to see that program continue well into the future and be available for everyone who needs it."
