First Financial Foundation Awards $7,500 Grant to Offer Free CPR Certification Through YMCA Healthy Workplace Collaborative
The Monroe County YMCA is proud to announce the receipt of a $7,500 grant from the First Financial Foundation, which will provide free CPR certification training for approximately 125 individuals through the Monroe County YMCA Healthy Workplace Collaborative.
The funding will remove financial barriers for both employers and employees, allowing participants to receive life-saving CPR certification at no cost. By increasing access to this critical training, the initiative aims to strengthen workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and community health across Monroe County and surrounding areas.
"Learning CPR gives individuals the confidence and skills to respond during emergencies when every second matters," said Dr. Jason Winkle, CEO of the Monroe County Y. "We are incredibly grateful to the First Financial Foundation for investing in the health and safety of our community. Their support will help us equip more people with the knowledge needed to save lives."
The Healthy Workplace Collaborative, an initiative of the Monroe County Y, works with employers throughout the region to create healthier, safer, and more productive workplaces. Through training, resources, wellness programming, and community partnerships, the Collaborative helps organizations improve employee well-being while fostering a culture of health with no cost for employees and employers.
The CPR certification program is one example of the Collaborative's commitment to making evidence-based health and safety resources accessible to area employers and their teams. By providing certifications free of charge, the program ensures organizations of all sizes can participate, regardless of budget constraints.
