Craig Burk Memorial Fund
Providing scholarships for youth and teens interested in strength training. As a child, Craig came to the Y with his sister and mom and loved attending summer camp. He developed a lifelong passion for bicycling and weight training, devoting much of his time to the Y and local gyms throughout his teen and college years. His deep connection to fitness and the Y inspired his family to establish this memorial fund, ensuring that young people with similar interests have access to strength training opportunities.
Today, this fund supports inclusive strength training programs that foster more than just physical fitness. Participants build confidence, lasting friendships, and a true sense of belonging. Many return year after year, valuing the camaraderie and social connection just as much as the workouts. These programs often extend beyond scheduled class time, with participants choosing to stay, connect, and encourage one another—creating a welcoming community that impacts lives both inside and outside the gym.
We are deeply thankful to the Burk family and to all donors whose generosity continues Craig’s legacy and helps make these meaningful experiences possible at the Monroe County Y. Support the Craig Burk Memorial Fund today!
