Northwest Y Playground Project
We Did It!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we reached our $50,000 goal for the Northwest Y Playground Project! This campaign will help transform an underutilized outdoor space at the Northwest YMCA into a vibrant, welcoming playground where local children can play, explore, build confidence, make friends, and create lasting memories. The new playground will give families another safe space to be active, connect, and enjoy time together year-round. And there’s even more to celebrate! Because we reached our fundraising goal, all donations will be matched by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), helping take this project even further. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, shared the campaign and helped spread the word.
Together, you helped build more than a playground — you helped build a place for play, connection, and belonging for generations of Northwest Y families to come.
Thank you for helping us bring this vision to life!

For many families in our community, the YMCA is a second home. Adding a playground to our Northwest branch will create more opportunities for children to play in a safe, welcoming environment.

Every Child Belongs at the Y
At the Monroe County YMCA, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of their family's financial circumstances.
Through our Y for All financial assistance program, we work every day to remove barriers that prevent children from participating in the life-changing experiences the Y provides. In 2026 alone, more than 700 local children received membership scholarships, ensuring access to healthy activities, supportive relationships, and a place where they belong. Many of these same children also attended summer camp through Y for All Scholarships, creating opportunities for discovery, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
A new playground at the Northwest YMCA is another way we can live out that commitment. It will provide a welcoming place where children from all backgrounds can play side by side, build confidence, develop social connections, and simply enjoy being kids.
